The One Word That Will Take You From Plain Jane to Turning Heads At A Rate That Is Insane!

By Dwayne Pressley Well actually three words, color, color, color!!! I remember the world renowned, salon owner and entrepreneur, John Amico, once told me he is HAPPILY married, Never cheats on his wife, yet he comes home with 5 different women a year! How does he do it? With color (he colors his wifes hair 4-5 times a year) and he says each time show looks like a
new woman!!! One of the keys to looking "stunning" with color is getting colors that blend well with your eyes and your skin tone. When this occurs your hair color(s) will not look so "man made-ish" and the hair color(s) you choose will not only compliment you, but also look very natural. When taking color into consideration keep in mind there are different "types" to choose from. You have temporary, semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent hair color. *Temporary Hair Color- is just that, temporary. It is good to use if your permanent color ever starts to fade, between your color appointments. *Semi-Permanent Hair Color- was created to last anywhere from 6 - 8 shampoos. I must admit that some product lines are stronger than this and I have witnessed a few semi-permanent colors almost as strong as some permanent hair color(s). *Demi-Permanent Hair Color- was designed to be gentle on the hair. This would be an excellent option for African American women wanting color (and currently relaxing their hair). Even though they do not lighten hair, they can become permanent, so keep in mind that shampooing your hair will not remove demi-permanent hair color. *Permanent Hair Color: will permanently change the natural color of your hair by either making it lighter or darker. There are also different factors to take into consideration as well, when choosing your hair color. Like: *The season. The colors that look best on you inlets saythe spring, will not look the best on you...during wintertime. *How "drastic" of a change you want to make. The farther you go from your natural color, the more the color will be noticed. *All over color, vs. highlights. Living in Florida, there is no question which one I love the best...(you guessed it) highlights!!! Want to Lose More Weight? Eat Breakfast!

By Kimberly Floyd The other day, I was talking with my sister about eating healthy and she said, "Breakfast is the hardest meal for me. After all, what can you eat besides bacon, sausage, or eggs?" Eating breakfast is essential to your weight loss efforts. A National Weight Control Registry survey has shown that people who eat breakfast tend to be slimmer than people who do not. Eating breakfast kick starts your metabolism in the morning. Because eating a healthy breakfast is a problem for many people, I would like to share with you some ideas for this meal to help you start your day right. Omelets - Okay I know these are made with eggs, but lets make them healthier. To start, mix three egg whites together, plus one yolk. Cook the mixture in a pan that has been coated with cooking spray. Fill the omelet with green onions, red peppers, mushrooms, and low fat mozzarella cheese. For an added kick, serve with 2 tablespoons of chunky salsa or low fat sour cream. Breakfast pizza - To create an Italian masterpiece, simply spray two whole wheat English muffin halves with olive oil spray. Toast lightly. Top the halves with two tablespoons of tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce on each. Then add some chopped vegetables, such as peppers, mushrooms, artichokes, or olives. Cover the vegetables with part-skim mozzarella cheese and bake for 10-15 minutes in a 425 degree oven. This pizza also makes a good lunch. Smoothies - Want something sweet and healthy? Try a Strawberry, Orange, and Banana Smoothie. To make one, pour one cup of orange juice in a blender. Add one cup of frozen strawberries, one whole banana, and a scoop of vanilla flavored protein powder. Blend until smooth. Enjoy! Nutty Yogurt - If you are in a hurry, nothing beats a small container of fruit flavored non-fat yogurt and mixed with 2 TBSP. of almonds, pecans, or walnuts. Alternatively, you can also stir in cup of quick cooking oats. If you want a more traditional breakfast, then there is always breakfast cereal. For maximum nutrients, you want to make sure that the cereal you choose has at least five grams of fiber per serving. Add banana or a cup of berries for an extra vitamin boost and top with either skim or 1% milk. With a little creativity, you can develop your own favorites. Use this meal to set the tone for good nutrition all day long. A Registered Nurse for many years, Kimberly Floyd battled obesity for much of her adult life. She achieved her ideal weight and has written a new book entitled 'Moneywise Weight Loss' which teaches others how to lose weight and save money--at the same time.

How to Get Started With Beading as a Hobby

By TereTan BK Beading is a great creative hobby that is suitable for people of all ages. You can also make beautiful and unique creations for yourself, family, friends and loved ones. Young children love to make beaded bracelets and necklaces. There are also beading kits that are catered for children to learn the craft of beading. Adults who love working with beads can also make a living selling their creative bead work at fairs, online, and opening their own trendy bead boutiques. Here is how you can get started with this wonderful craft. The first step would be to find a good local bead shop with good advice of experienced staff. There are also online catalogs and websites that provide great information and sell all sort of the supplies and tools required. Some stores would also offer beginners classes that would help you to learn basic techniques. Some even offer packaged starter kits that may include a beading board, tools, beads, wire, findings, books, etc. Start with a simple project such as a basic bracelet or necklace, without using too expensive beads and findings. You can use Swarovski crystal, sterling silver and semi-precious beads at a later stage. To sell more items, you can also consider expanding your bead work to more items than just jewelry. One area that is gaining popularity is bead work on household items. You can add beads to table cloths, lamp shades, or comforters. Beads can really liven up any household piece that you have. You can also work on seasonal projects, like Christmas bead work for jewelry or household items. Many people are interested in decorating their house during this and other holiday periods and will be more keen to purchase beaded craft. The only limitation with bead work is your own imagination. Ten Gift-Giving Tips While You Save

By Christiene Villanueva When thoughtfulness meets practical sense, you have a sure-fire formula for sound gift-giving. No matter how good it feels to make someone else happy, the value of gift-giving should not be measured based on the amount fetched for it, but on the intent for which the gift is given and the purpose it will serve the recipient. A gift worth a thousand dollars can spellbound for a while, but just like any spell, the magic will soon ebb away. In the final analysis, the gift that matters is one that touches a chord on someones heart, pastes a smile on the lips and lifts the spirit. You have the power to make a difference in your gift-giving, in fact, it does not take much to make an impression. Below are tips gathered from various experiences, those that have succeeded to please without putting so much dent on the wallet. For isnt it, that most of lifes pleasures come free, they only become difficult to achieve when we put a price tag to it? Save on time. Choosing a gift should not be done in haste. Haste makes waste is a popular adage, and it applies on gift-giving, too. Before you set foot outside of the house, you should have a mental image of the gift you want to get for a specific person, otherwise the running around will tire you needlessly, and will rob you of the fun and excitement that go with gift-giving. PLAN AHEAD OF TIME. This is perennial as the sun that rises in the east. Nothing saves more time, effort and resources than planning. The internet hosts a wide array of online stores that will serve as your best stop, without leaving home. Make use of technology to deliver to you the gift that best describes your emotion, in your utmost convenience, and at a price you can afford. Keep a list. Maintain and regularly update your list of people family, friends, relatives, close associates that you prefer to give gifts to. Keep a calendar of family events like birthdays and anniversaries, as well as milestones in other peoples lives, whose happiness you treasure. This will help you plan in advance the best gift for the occasion. Additional tips: Choose an item that comes in a variety of colors or styles and give this to several people; buying in bulk can save you dollars. For families, one item that they can collectively enjoy such as a board game, an appliance, or an exercise equipment will go a long way to making everyone happy. Find a substitute. When a particular gift you have in mind is not available or is costly, find a suitable but cheaper replacement or substitute. Exercise your imagination without loosening your grip on your purse strings. For a housewife, an occasional shopping spree, may sound just as costly as any kind of shopping. But a candlelit dinner for two may not only sound romantic, it can also put fun within the budget. Create a fit. The receiver and his gift. Gift-giving is all about the other fellow who receives the gift, what he likes. This is the charm of gift-giving: nobody is old enough to appreciate the gift, or young enough to take it for granted. Everyone just loves a gift! The trick is on how to make a fit. To effectively give a gift, be genuinely interested in the person for whom you wish to give a gift: what does he want, or need? Oftentimes, this information is communicated to us when we least expect to listen to it, or acknowledge it. Jot down any information or detail you can gather. This will serve its purpose later. Create a budget. Gift-giving need not be expensive if you know how to face up to the challenge of buying gift items, within your limits. To ease up the challenge, a list of gifts to buy can set up your focus, and an estimate of how far your budget can stretch. And stick to it! Shop regularly. Perennial gift-givers have a novel and practical approach to gift-giving. They refuse to be smitten by the spur-of-the-moment bug, instead they shop regularly, and in constant look-out for bargain items they can save up until the moment comes. This is the more subtle way of gathering up for bigger celebrations like Christmas and birthdays. Buying items this way does not impose a load on the budget, instead it sets up the discipline of saving for the long haul. 8. Set a gift-giving fund. A penny saved is a penny earned, that is one of the many credos we grew up with, and soon forgot. Setting aside an amount for gift- giving, on regular basis, will guarantee that when an occasion calls for it, we are ready. A small amount saved each month will add up overtime. With a budget to work with, gift-giving becomes a more pleasurable exercise. 9. The shortest way to anyones heart is still through the stomach. Food. There is something comforting in a good meal. No wonder, people from all walks of life appreciate a home-cooked or personally prepared menu. Discover your loved ones favorites and whip up a meal that suits his tastes. Few men can resist the temptation of good food served in a platter of feminine charm, laced with intelligently carried-out conversations. 10. Its the thought that counts. When you are given a gift, show courtesy by sending back a thank you card. Oftentimes, the thought counts just as important as the gift itself. Dont be fooled by the notion that the gift encompasses everything there is in gift-giving. The gift is only the physical manifestation; what is more valuable is that which is unseen. Happy gift-giving! Puzzle Picture

By Regenia Butcher There are a lot of jigsaw puzzles to choose from today. Pictures of everything from beach scenes to mountain views, avant-garde art to reprint masterpieces, and everything in between. Not only is there a variety in the number of scenes you can choose from, there is also a variety of sizes and border shapes available. Puzzles are a fun challenge to put together. They can also be a very nice gift. Here is a way of preserving them to create that gift. MATERIALS 1 Jigsaw puzzle 2 Craft paint brushes
(sponge brushes if you are going to wash it out with soap and water, dry it and use again for the next coat of paint) 1 Roll of wide paper tape (inexpensive painter's tan tape) 2 Pieces of flat cardboard (approximately 2" larger than the expected size of the completed puzzle) Decoupage liquid (sold in any craft section) INSTRUCTIONS 1) Decide which puzzle would be best according to the interests of the person who will be receiving the gift. 2) Put the puzzle together on one of the flat cardboard pieces. Find a place where it will be out of the way since it usually takes a while to get the puzzle completely connected. 3) When the puzzle is finished, brush on decoupage over the entire top picture surface and allow to completely dry. Be sure to get the decoupage liquid in the crevices between the pieces. This acts as a surface sealer and also helps in sticking the puzzle pieces together. The decoupage will dry fairly quickly and will dry to a clear finish. 4) Place the other piece of flat cardboard on top of the dried puzzle. 5) Tape the edges of the bottom and top pieces of cardboard together at several places on all the edges. The completed puzzle will then be sandwiched between the two pieces of cardboard. A few pieces of tape here and there will do to keep them the puzzle in tact until it is turned over. 6) Carefully and quickly flip the taped cardboard/puzzle/cardboard over to the other side. The completed puzzle will now have the back of the puzzle showing. 7) Gently remove the tape and remove the top piece of cardboard. 8) Cover the entire back of the puzzle vertically with tape strips. Gently press and rub the taped areas to make it stick better. Then repeat by taping the entire area again, placing the tape horizontally across the puzzle (tape on tape). And repeat once more, placing the tape diagonally across the puzzle, pressing and rubbing as you go. You should now be able to pick up the puzzle as one piece. However, if you want to be extra cautious, place the other piece of cardboard back on top of the puzzle. Then flip the cardboard/puzzle/cardboard trio over once more. There's no need to tape the edges again before flipping it this time. 9) Now that the taped puzzle shows the picture side again, paint the decoupage over it's surface again. Be sure to get the decoupage liquid in the crevices between the pieces. Allow to completely dry and paint the picture side with the decoupage once more. Allow to dry completely. 10) Frame the puzzle as you would any other picture. NOTE: The puzzle becomes a gift of shared-time memories as well if the person it is meant for also helps you put it together. Just surprise them later by gluing it together and framing it. Regenia G. Motorola V3xx - Still Better...

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carly_Charu]Carly Charu Motorola V3xx does not introduce any ground-breaking ergonomics but it comes as a solid HSDPA phone that is all set to rock the market. Retaining much of the original RAZR v3's design, the mobile comes with a new MP3 player, 1.3 Megapixels camera and a microSD card slot for extra storage. The phone is available in many colours like - blue, black, burnt orange and silver. In terms of design, the Motorola V3xx is slightly thicker than its original set, measuring 103mm x 53mm x 15mm and weighing 103g. The outside display is quite informative, showing reception, battery life, time and network status. It also shows new events, like missed calls and unread messages. But the catch here is that the external display of Motorola V3xx is not that clear even with the backlight. On the flip side the 2.2in, 320 x 240 pixel TFT internal screen presents a more satisfactory picture. The control and keypad are not altered. These include a five-way navigational pad, two selection buttons, answer/end call keys, and dedicated buttons for video calling, clear and music. When it comes to functionalities, theMotorola V3xx may not be a surprise package but nonetheless provides enhanced features. One of the biggest gift is its quick response user interface. Motorola V3xx includes standard messaging and emailing options with POP3, IMAP, and SMTP protocols supported. Being a new generation HSPDA phone the gadget is also capable of high data speed, while for connectivity, it offers Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0. Further, the phone supports Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). Motorola V3xx comes with dual cameras. One 1.3 MP camera (with 8x digital zoom and flash) for video and photography, another VGA camera for video calling. More on the lines of entertainment, the Motorola V3xx comes with a good music player. And if one would rather want to store, download more music and pictures, the 50MB of internal memory comes quite handy. One can also expand the memory further. Do You Have Disciples?

By Eric Okeke Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." That was the command of the master, Jesus of Nazareth when he walked the face of this earth to two fishermen, Simon and his brother, Andrew. The scripture says: "At once they left their nets and followed him." The question then is: why would two fishermen abandon their professional calling to follow a preacher who had no home, property or assets? These fishermen were to form the fist two of the 12 disciples of the Lord Jesus. He chose, trained, and gave them authority and power, and challenged them to go and preach the good news of the kingdom of God. In less than three years, what was originally a team of timid and weary persons from diverse professions was transformed into a formidable team of bold and articulate men, who were fiercely loyal, spread the gospel message, teaching, healing, encouraging and touching the lives of the people with signs and wonders. They were the 12 disciples whose name millions of Christians bear today. They learnt at the feet of the master. Where Jesus went, they went. Where He slept they slept. What He ate, they ate. The master was virtually inseparable from his disciples. Jesus had a message for humanity. He knew Himself, where He came from, and where He was going. He had a vision, and needed trained followers to help him amplify His gospel message. One thing is clear. Before Jesus chose his disciples, He was already proclaiming His message, walking through the lands of Samaria, Judea, and Galilee, no cars, no telephone, no computers. Within three years, the Lord literally took an entire race by storm, transforming their beliefs and value systems. And great crowds followed Him. And so dear professional who is at the top of the corporate ladder, the question is: What is your corporate message that explains who you are, your vision and where you are going, how you work, your beliefs, work ethics, processes, and more? Are you proclaiming it? Are you grooming successors, teaching and mentoring? Do you have disciples? Remember, a combination of these three has the potential of transforming your business into big time via creating a proper understanding and appreciation of your business amongst your employees, customers, clients, partners, retailers, suppliers, regulators and other publics. The ultimate is that great crowds will follow you and your business because they know you. The challenge is for you to turn your workforce and other publics into your disciples (that is if you are worth following) by changing your business orientation, and entering their lives by developing periodic corporate messages that are not necessarily promotional; but messages couched in words that have spirit and life and geared to transform the fortune of your publics and take them to their promised land. Do you have disciples? The second step is to proclaim your corporate message at all times - in ways that connect with your audience. And the third is to assemble and train a crop of corporate disciples that will step out into the marketplace and amplify your messages and work ethics. That is when you will be positioned to do signs and wonders with your brands and products.
So who is a disciple? A disciple is a follower, someone who has a teachable spirit and is willing to learn at the feet of the master. Someone who has been taught, is very loyal to his/her master, and is ever willing to do the master's bidding. A disciple is a follower of someone s/he believes in. The person being followed is a motivational leader who chooses to train and send the disciples to go and preach the good news and do his work. For corporate managers, the good news should be: your vision, corporate culture, values and ethics, the character of your brands, how you make them, the way you do business, your corporate social responsibility, your strengths and unique selling points, your human resources, how you recruit and train them, how you care for your staff and customers, and so many others. There is so much you can talk about. Is the corporate world doing this? Not really. There is little corporate message, and hardly can any corporate body boast of corporate disciples. There is so much concentration on advertising that hardly passes on detailed messages, public functions of product launches, sales promotions, events management, annual general meetings, facts behind the figures meet at the Stock Exchange, long service awards, end of your socials, and refuting allegations of bad press. In all these, hardly are the consuming and other publics and even employees carried along with detailed information about the dynamics, direction, headaches, and triumphs of the corporate body. The best the corporate public gets is akin to the SMS (short message service) messages mobile phone users send to each other. There is a vast difference between a detailed discussion between two mobile phone users and SMS messages between them. The latter is cheaper but contains less information. At best, many companies maintain a public relations department with a manager in charge. The banks call it Corporate Affairs and depending on the orientation of the CEO, managers of such departments have limited scope and functions besides organizing corporate functions and socials. Some are even reduced to glorified errand boys and girls. Yet the company's public are watching and wondering what is happening behind those corporate walls.
How many companies can beat their chest and say my customers know me, trust me, and they follow me, not just because of my excellent brands and marketing thrust, because they know what we stand for, they know my people and how we operate? Why are publishers of news and magazines falsifying their circulation figures? They think by inflating it, they can pull in more adverts. Not so. Readers and advertisers are no longer fooled by bogus claims.
Why don't you go beyond advertising and sales promotion and begin to transform your employees associates, suppliers, consultants, partners, regulators and customers into your corporate disciples? Teach them about your corporate character, ways, work process and methods. Do it with authority, humility, sincerity and show them you care. You will see great crowds following you. 3 Marketing Tactics That Will Send Your Sales Through The Roof

By Allyn Cutts When the tide comes in, all boats in the harbor go up... the tough part is figuring out how to bring the tide in. Booming economies come and go and bring surges of profit increases, then ebb to leave behind shortages and tough times. Regardless, there are some business that just seem to weather the tough times with grace, not really affected by recessions. It's almost as though they have a secret source... maybe they do... customers. Hey, customers always buy... in the good times and in the bad times. They still have needs and still make purchases. When you understand their needs and wants, you have the keys to keeping your business afloat when others are grounded. Implement these three tactics successful marketers use, and you're set for success. 1. Just One Customers can be like a two year old in a candy store... they want it all. Yeah, sometimes its hard to make up your mind about what you really do want when everything looks so good. Thats why it pays to promote one product over the others. It spells out loud and clear... IM THE BEST DEAL. That will be the deciding factor in most cases. 2. Make Them Feel Good Customers buy because they want to enjoy the benefits of the purchase. A lady might buy a dress because she wants to feel sexy, or a man will buy a saw because he finds pleasure in creating things. Emotions are the key element that drives purchases. Use word pictures to stir up the emotions that will instigate the sale. Let them feel the benefits, and theyll be more apt to head for the cash register. Put them where you want them. Selling a riding mower? ... the birds are singing, Easter lilies are blooming and kids are flying kites in the wind... spring has arrived. Yep, its time to get out that mower and fuel it up for the summer ahead. How many springs have come and gone since you promised yourself a riding mower? ... Its not hard to paint mental pictures that whet their appetite for the product you are advertising. 3. Make Contact Following up with a customer who didnt buy can be the determining factor between and almost sale and a satisfied, loyal customer. Simply contact them afterwards and let them know the product is still available or offer them further information they may find valuable. Internet marketers can offer free newsletters or reports that consumers find useful and marketers find profitable. Not only do you keep your product in front of the customer on a regular basis, you get email information to stay in contact. Both parties win! Las Vegas Western Theme Weddings

By Kevin Stith If you have always been into cowboys and horses, maybe a western theme wedding and reception is right for you. And for such a wedding, no place is better than Las Vegas. How do you set yours up so you do not need to hire a wedding planner? Here are ideas to help get you started. Overall design. Most western theme venues in Las Vegas come complete with swinging saloon doors. You will also find wagon wheels around the room. They likewise provide catering services, and the staff is dressed in old west outfits. Enhance his look by adding personal effects, such as "wanted" posters with a picture of you and your spouse-to-be. Ask the venue manager if you can add props such as bales of straw at the reception hall to achieve a "barn" effect. If you have more time and a larger budget, why not add mock signage for a saloon, a general store, a western bank, a pony express office, and a jail? Food. Most Las Vegas western-style reception venues serve good ol' ribs, steaks, and fried chicken. Ask them to serve side orders such as macaroni and cheese, baked beans, corn and carrots, etc. If you don't want a traditional wedding cake, why not serve pies instead? Flowers. After the venue, the next thing you should decide on is flowers. Go for either bluebonnets (the flower of the State of Texas) or sego lilies (Utah). Dominant colors should be yellow orange, and red combined. Blues and greens are also common Western colors. A cowboy hat can serve as the base for your centerpiece flowers. You can also use cowboy boots as vases! If your budget is limited, then use cheaper potted cacti instead. Lanterns or oil lamps could work, too. Music. A player-piano would be great. Rent one complete with music scrolls. You can also hire a western singer (in a western get up). If you can stretch the budget, why not hire a square dance caller? Your guests will surely have fun dancing! Ask For That Raise!

By Kimberly Schenk For nine years Jeff worked for company G as an engineer. Flying airplanes was his first love. His job came in a close second place. That changed when Jeff met Judy. Their relationship quickly turned serious and they married. When Jeff and Judy sat down to do financial planning as a couple, Judy learned Jeffs salary was surprisingly low. With a human resource background, Judy knew the salary range for Jeffs type of work, and what his credentials were worth. Jeff was seriously underpaid. Jeff was shocked and somewhat crestfallen. His attitude was, Im lucky to do what I love AND GET PAID for having fun! As Jeff began to understand his market value he felt betrayed. Had he been duped? Had he been a fool for years? Was his company taking advantage of him? He wanted to keep his job. Asking for a raise was painful. The idea of asking for a 30% raise was excruciating! With a wife and future family it was time for Jeff to pay attention to his compensation. Jeff had read The Ripple Effect, Speak Your Mind Constructively, and sat down to write his request. He was flooded with anger, frustration, fear of hearing no raise for you, and possibly the prospect of looking for another job. He felt disloyal yet asking to be paid a fair marketplace value was good business, not disloyalty.
With a tug of war going on in his head, Jeff stayed focused on the conversation that would impact his future. When he sat down with his boss Jeff got to the point. I have worked here for nine years. My reviews have consistently been good to great. Ive worked in several departments and handled every task assigned to me, competently. I love my job and have been very happy working here. I feel Im underpaid and I am requesting a raise of $13,000. I know you need time to talk with upper management. When can I expect an answer? Jeffs boss was dumbfounded. Jeff was asking for five times what their typical raise amount was, yet he sensed Jeff had a fresh understanding of his value and was dead serious. Jeff did not cloud his request with emotion, accusations, or justifications. Jeff did not threaten to leave if he did not get the raise. He stated his position and was specific about his needs. Caught off guard, his boss simply said, I hear you. Give me 48 hours to get you an answer. The next 48 hours were agonizing for Jeff and Judy. Finally, Jeff was called into his boss office. After careful consideration we are prepared to offer you $12,000. Will that work? Now Jeff was dumbfounded. He was thrilled he had made the request. Yes. That works fine. When will it start? was Jeffs response. Jeff had newfound respect for himself and his credentials. He did what was right in his mind for his future. He followed the four steps in the Ripple Effect on how to create an effective message. He spoke in words that were comfortable for him. Emotions could have derailed his request but Jeff was careful to check his statements against the one principle and edit out any ineffective comments. Negative messages can trigger resistance, or resentment. Jeff disliked conflict and was happy with his behavior. We all live complicated lives. Using proven communication tools is easy when we simply get to know them. When we communicate effectively, we are able to omit ineffective tactics, knowing they are likely to foil our efforts. 9 Tips on Creating a Professional Emailed Job Application

By Angela Wu With the advent of the Internet, many of us have the opportunity to apply for work through email. However, just because this is the Internet and email is so fast and convenient, that does NOT mean you should give up professionalism and polish! FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT. I recently looked over a few emailed applications, and let me tell you, it was an eye-opening experience! Here are a few examples of how *not* to do things... One person simply forwarded the job description to the hiring company. There was no explanatory letter, no name (just some garbled email address), no nothing. Why should a company want to hire someone who can't be bothered to make an effort? Several people got the name of the hiring party wrong. Some misspelled it, others substituted someone else's name. Spelling mistakes, typos, grammatical errors, and formatting problems like you wouldn't believe. One person said that her greatest strength was her attention to 'detal' (should have been 'DETAIL'); another said it was his responsibility to 'a tent to customers' ('ATTEND to customers'). It almost goes without saying that you should always follow the application instructions provided. If you're inquiring or applying for a job - regardless of whether it's online or in the 'real world' - there are certain rules of etiquette that apply: GREET THE PERSON. Don't just barge in and start writing. A simple "Dear ___" is great. CORRECTLY SPELL THE COMPANY NAME AND THAT OF THE HIRING MANAGER. If you don't know how to spell them, take a few seconds and find out. INDICATE WHAT POSITION YOU'RE APPLYING FOR. Be specific; the company may be hiring for more than one job. PROVIDE A BRIEF SUMMARY OF YOUR RELEVANT SKILLS. Keep it short and to the point. CHECK YOUR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR. It takes just a few minutes. If you are not confident about doing this yourself, ask a friend or family member to check it over for you. BE COURTEOUS! Don't make demands. Remember that the *only* thing the hiring manager sees is your email - he or she can't see your facial expressions or body language, so take extra care in the words you select and how you put them together. FORMAT YOUR EMAIL TO 60 CHARACTERS PER LINE. Many email programs automatically 'word-wrap' somewhere between 60 and 70 characters. Add a hard return when you reach 60 characters on a line; this will ensure the company gets a nicely formatted application, just like you intended. TELL THEM HOW TO CONTACT YOU. As the bare minimum, leave your phone number and email address. AND FOR GOODNESS SAKES, TELL THEM YOUR *NAME*. This is so obvious it's painful, yet I've seen dozens of applications there are not signed. End your letter with 'Sincerely', 'Regards' or 'Yours Truly', and then sign your name. Competition for home based jobs is fierce, and companies can afford to be choosy. Don't give them a reason to pass you by! Professionalism still counts - even on the web. Is Treating Fibromyalgia with Medication For You?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jane_Thompson] Jane Thompson Joining a fibromyalgia support group can be excellent psychological and emotional therapy. However, talking and sharing your experiences with others is not likely to take away any of the painful physical symptoms or fatigue you feel. Therefore, many fibromyalgia sufferers need to turn to alternative and medical remedies to find relief from their symptoms. There are different over-the-counter (OTC) and prescribed medications that a fibromyalgia sufferer may find beneficial to their condition. That being said, not every person with fibromyalgia will have the same response to medical treatment, and may require different treatment to address their specific symptoms.
Although there are a number of medications that can be prescribed for specific symptoms, or those currently being used in clinical trials, the following are the most common medical treatments prescribed:
Analgesics Analgesics are drugs designed to relieve bodily aches and pains and are also known as painkillers. OTC analgesics include acetaminophen and the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen. Although NSAIDs are primarily used to reduce inflammation and inflammation is not a symptom of fibromyalgia, they offer effective pain relief. The problem with using NSAIDs for pain relief is that prolonged use of this medication can irritate the stomach lining, lead to digestive upset and cause stomach ulcers. Aside from OTC analgesics, doctors may prescribe opioid analgesics such as tramadol. Tramadol is a narcotic used to treat moderate to severe pain, and is typically used to treat surgical, arthritic and fibromyalgia pain. However, other stronger narcotics may be prescribed for sufferers with severe muscle pain. The problem doctors have with prescribing narcotics is that although effective, there is a high risk that those who take them will become addicted and dependent on these drugs. Furthermore, narcotics can have many side effects including altering moods, behaviors and fatigue. Antidepressants
Antidepressants are one of the most common medications prescribed for fibromyalgia sufferers. This is because antidepressants elevate the levels of specific brain chemicals such as norepinephrine and serotonin. Low levels of these and other brain chemicals can result in depression, pain and fatigue. By increasing chemical levels these symptoms can be improved. Doctors provide different types of antidepressants to fibromyalgia sufferers based on how they feel. For instance, tricyclic antidepressants are provided to fibromyalgia patients who suffer from insomnia, as these meds help restore sleep. In addition, tricyclic antidepressants can help painful muscles relax and stimulate endorphins (bodys natural painkillers). Different tricyclic antidepressants that may be prescribed include: amitriptyline, doxepin, cyclobenzaprine and nortriptyline. Additional antidepressant that may be used to treat depression and other fibromyalgia syptoms are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). These include fluoxetine, sertraline and paroxetine. Antidepressants can be habit forming and may cause side effects such as dry mouth, weight gain, anxiety, gastrointestinal upset, loss of libido, insomnia, and fatigue. Note: each antidepressant will have different side effects. Benzodiazepines
Benzodiazepines are psychotropic drugs that have been known to help fibromyalgia sufferers relax tense and painful muscles, and with restless legs syndrome, and insomnia. Benzodiazepines have hypnotic and sedative effects, and like antidepressants, dependence and addiction can occur in some patients. Other side effects may include depression, memory impairment, slow motor skills, etc. Benzodiazepines are usually prescribed to fibromyalgia sufferers who have not responded well to other treatments. Some Benzodiazepines meds prescribed include: diazepam, temazepman, clonazepam, and triazolam. Despite what medication you may be interested in or your doctor may recommend, you need to make sure you ask your doctor important questions before taking any medication so you can receive the most effective treatment that is right for you. 6 important questions to ask your doctor
1. What are the medications you recommend for my specific symptoms?
2. What side effects can I expect and will this medication have negative interactions with other medications, foods or activities?
3. Should I continue taking medications even if I feel better?
4. What are the long-term effects this medication will have on my health?
5. Can I take any alternative therapies with this medication, or are there any alternative therapies I can try which might provide me with relief for my symptoms?
6. Are there any clinical trials I may be eligible for?

How to Deal with a Financial Emergency

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Robert_Andrews_II]Robert Andrews II Are you in a financial crisis and looking for a solution to your problem? The best way to handle a financial crisis is to avoid it or at least plan ahead for it in the first place. If you haven't planned ahead you're not alone so don't worry. Financial emergency can mean different things to different people so it's not possible to give specific advice. For arguments sake, let's say you require 1,000 dollars in 7 days. Here are six possible solutions: 1. Emergency Fund If you had an emergency fund, you obviously wouldn't be in a financial crisis. Remember how you feel now and when this crisis passes start saving percent of your income in a special account for emergencies. Your next cash crunch is coming. You just don't know when so you might as well plan for it now. Planning ahead is always the best course of action. 2. Friends & Family Family and friends may be willing to provide short-term cash. These ought to be people who know, trust, and respect you. Don't be embarassed, almost everyone faces financial emergencies. Friends will be more understanding than bill collectors and banks. Best practice is to put it in writing and honor your commitment to repay the loan on time. No excuses...or these people may not be your friends much longer. 3. Employer Consider asking your boss for an early payday. You're going to have to get over any embarassment you may feel. There's nothing to be ashamed of because financial emergencies are not uncommon. And you won't get what you don't ask for. 4. Credit Cards Pay the bills directly with a credit card or get a cash advance. The interest rates on some credit cards is high but don't be over concerned with interest rates on short-term loans for small amounts. The interest is usually waived if you pay off the balance on your next billing cycle anyway. An you'll only pay 50 dollars interest on 1,000 dollars borrowed for 90 days even at a high 20 percent interest rate. That's probably a lot less than some of the exorbitant late fees some utitlity companies and others charge. 5. No Fax Cash Advance Payday Loan As a last resort, payday loans offer up to 1,500 dollars cash with no credit checks. Paying a high interest rate one time to protect your credit rating for the long-term may be a good decision. 6. Internet Auctions Do you have something of value that you could sell on eBay? eBay has auction periods as short as hours, but the longer the auction the more bidders and the higher selling price you're likely to attract so a or day auction may be best if you can wait that long. Depending on the buyer, you could have your funds the same day the auction ends or a few days later. There are many other ideas to numerous to mention here. Creative thinking is the key. When this financial crisis ends, think about the next one and start saving 10 percent of your take home pay in an emergency fund. It requires discipline. You'll probably have to sacrifice by avoiding some purchases you'd like to make but you'll be glad you did. Preparing Your Vacation Home for Colder Weather

By Phil Allen When you first feel a chill in the air, its time to start planning for much colder weather. Winterizing your vacation home can save you money as well as time if you use this checklist of items: Water System Shut off water systems by turning off the pump or shutting the valve if on city water. Drain the pressure tank. Open all faucets. Break a union close to the valve so water will drain out clear to the shut-off valve. Drain the pump and run a second or two to be sure all water is out of lines from the pump. Flush toilets and dip all water out of the flush tank.
Be sure to drain flexible spray hoses in showers and sinks. Drain water softeners so water will drain back from soft water pipes and controls. Brine tank will probably not freeze.
Drain water heaters. Electric heating systems require no maintenance other than shutting off the power to the heating units. Hot-air heating systems Turn off burner emergency switch which is often located at the top of the stairs.
Drain humidifier which is usually located on the furnace.
Forced hot water and steam systems: Drain all water in the system unless the liquid contains anti-freeze. It is wise to have this type of system drained by a plumber unless you are well-informed on the procedures necessary. Thermostats Winterize your summer home as you do your winter home. To help conserve energy when the home is not occupied, install a low-heat thermostat. By doing this your home could be maintained at abut 40 F. without a freeze-up, rather than at 55 Ft. which is the lowest temperature at which most thermostats can be set. Washer and dishwasher Water left in hoses and internal components can cause damage when it freezes. Shut off water supply to clothes washer. Remove and drain inlet hoses. Clear the water valve by setting timer for fill cycle. Press warm water button and run machine a few seconds, then drain the water from drain hose, and finally, disconnect electrical supply. For a dishwasher, remove inlet and outlet connection to the valve. Operate valve to remove any water. Remove drain hose from the pump and drain, and disconnect the electrical supply. It is also a good idea to clean the equipment and to protect the finish with a coat of appliance polish. Stored Items Remove food, cosmetics, or medicine containers that contain liquid that would freeze from shelves. Food in paper or plastic containers should be put in large metal containers to protect from mice or other rodents. Remove or hide articles in the house that can be sold and converted to cash such as guns, radios, TV sets, tools or other valuables. Sewage system Force as much water as possible out of traps with a plunger, then add antifreeze to each trap so you have at least a 50% solution of ethylene - glycol and water. Sometimes fuel oil can be substituted for antifreeze. Check for additional traps in these locations: kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, bathtub and/or shower drains, toilets, washtubs, floor drains and maybe a sump pump. Keep out animals Cover chimneys tightly so that raccoons cannot enter the house, or birds fall down the chimney. Stop up any places in the foundation or around the eaves where squirrels, chipmunks, mice or other small animals can enter. Youve invested a lot of time and energy into making your vacation house a home-away-from-home so take these steps to make sure it welcomes you next spring. Toxic Pollutants & Their Effect on Fish Health

By Brett Fogle Once water temperatures increase in the summer months, fish
become more active and produce increasing amounts of waste,
leading to potential water pollution. Fish produce waste in the
form of ammonia, which is broken down into nitrites then nitrates
by beneficial bacteria. Both ammonia and nitrite are very harmful
to fish, even in very small quantities. Ammonia, in particular,
is more toxic at high temperatures and can cause severe problems.
In fact, water can hold five times as much dangerous ammonia at
77F as opposed to 41F. The effect on water quality is
exaggerated by a high pH, resulting in the formation of more
toxic ammonia. High nitrite levels are also more dangerous in low oxygen water
levels. Nitrite causes the hemoglobin in the fish's blood to form
metheamoglobin, which cannot carry as much oxygen around the body
of the fish, therefore making fish lethargic. Nitrates are relatively harmless to freshwater fish and act as
great fertilizers for plants. However, they also encourage the
growth of unwelcome algae, such as green water or blanket weed.
So, be sure to test the water quality every few weeks with a kit. If there is a noticeable reduction in water flow, you can back
flush your pressure filters and gently rinse any biological media
in a bucket of pond water. (Depending on your type of filter, its
biological media can be anything from plastic cylinders/spheres
to spaghetti-like strands to foam pads.) Biological media should
never be washed under the hose; chlorine contained in the water
kills the beneficial bacteria. Remember to never scrub the media
clean; simply rinse off any excess sludge or debris so beneficial
bacteria will remain intact and active, restarting the biological
process. **************************************************

Great Kitchen Herb Gardens

By Joey V. Davidson "Show me your garden and I shall tell you what you are." Alfred Austin's quote on garden comes close to describing the passion many gardeners feel about their flowering weeds. For the indoor gardener, this is especially true since most gardeners who bring their gardening indoors do so for a specific purpose. This purpose usually goes beyond a way to express one's spirit. Kitchen herb gardens can also purify the air and be harvested for seasoning cooking delights, ornamental creations, and ingredients in cleansers. When setting out, the new herb garden enthusiast will likely choose the failsafe herbs, just like the pioneers did. There was a mix of herbs used by the pioneers - some were those brought carefully across the Atlantic from their country of origin, and others were those that had been long used by Native Americans. These were seasoning herbs and those that helped keep meat edible for the longest time. Both settlers and natives had medicinal herbs in their apothecary, and many happily shared their knowledge. Some of these cures have not stood up to scientific scrutiny, but still we tend to associate herbs with medicine. The best place to start a kitchen herb garden is along a south or west window. If winter sunlight is poor in your kitchen, invest in a "grow lamp" or fluorescent lighting for better lighting. As your indoor garden expands, you may want to invest in special shelving that fits into your indoor window frame. Indoor Window Gardening (http://www.indoorwindowgardening.com) offers plant hangers and adjustable Plexiglas shelves that lengthen by cable, which are connected to a bracket that is mounted to your window molding. Below are tips for preparing your planter: - Use a planter with plenty of drainage holes since herbs don't like soggy roots. Set the planter on a drainage tray. - Line the bottom of the pot with one inch of gravel. Mix potting soil two parts to one part sand. Sweeten each "5-inch" pot's worth of soil mixture with 1 tsp. of ground limestone. - Put herbs that require the same amount of watering in prepared planter. Pick herbs according to how you intend to use your garden. For instance, will these herbs be for cooking or for show? Many herbs will crossover from one purpose to another purpose. For example, marjoram, mint, basil, chive, and sage work as seasoning, have incredible flowers, and are especially aromatic. To get ideas on which herbs to grow in your kitchen, check the seasoning aisle at your grocery store. Some other great herbs that can be harvested and used fresh or dried for later use include saffron, chive, tarragon, thyme, anise, and dill. Phyllis McGinley said "The trouble with gardening is that it does not remain an avocation. It becomes an obsession." This has a ring of truth as once you get to grips with growing and reaping the benefits of your indoor herb garden you won't be able to stop. Copyright 2005 Joey V. Davidson. All rights reserved. The Intelligent Way To Search For Collectibles On eBay

By Gregg Hall You would be surprised at the items that have been collecting dust in some of the garages and attics of many worldwide households. When it's time to do a little spring cleaning, eBay fills with some of the unwanted possessions from a wide range of characters. You never know when that collectible you've been wanting forever will appear as a listing. Every day, people take advantage of the chance to grab onto things they would never think they would see again. Make sure you are prepared the next time you are looking for an item to add to your collection.
Most eBay users find what they are looking for situated all in one category. A helpful way to keep an eye out for potential purchases is to find a category that fits your needs best. Once you have established a suitable category, you should add it to the Favorites section in your browser. This makes checking in on new items much easier. If you've been collecting for a while, chances are that you are already quite knowledgeable on the pieces you wish to purchase. This is your time to shine because often times, a seller doesn't even know what a great find they have in their possession. They may post a rare item up for less and are unaware of its monetary potential. Sometimes, important details are not included on a product description, which deters other collectors, but from your expertise, you are able to decipher a diamond in the rough. Sometimes, emailing a seller to ask questions is a good way to confirm your suspicions. If you can bear to part with it once you've acquired it, you may want to resale the item to make a larger profit. If a seller lists that they are selling an item that is "rare", keep in mind that this is not always true. Sellers are regular people like you and me, who have been known to stretch the truth a bit in order to attract potential buyers. Some sellers will just put the word into their descriptions because they think it makes the item sound better, not knowing the complications. Don't fall into the trap of bidding on something you aren't familiar with. Some people will aggressively bid on an item like it is the last auction in the world. Consider all of the thousands, something millions of items that newly appear on eBay and remember that usually, what comes around goes around. You'll have your chance to find something just like it, if not the same. It is OK to walk away from a negotiation when the stakes get too steep. When you don't turn the other cheek, you will wind up paying too much for the item. Bidding wars can become quite expensive. Even though you win an item at a reasonably low price, you must factor in the cost to ship it to you when the final bill rolls around. It doesn't make sense paying $20 in shipping costs for an item you won for $2, does it? A nice way to get around some costs is to buy a few items from the same seller, who will then often offer discounted postage. Gregg Hall is an author living in Navarre Florida. Father Anthony de Mello S.J. | Modern Day Saint

By Michael Brooke Great men and women of great faith and conviction who are able to attract an international following emerge rarely. Sister Theresa is obviously one such person. Though not quite in the same league, but very close is a Jesuit Priest who made a major impact on people of all faiths and beliefs in the 1980s. Born in Goa 1931, once a Portugese colony on the Indian subcontinent, He died of a sudden heart attack in 1987 at Fordon, the great Jesuit University, in New York preparing for his annual summer lecture tour across the great cities of the U.S.A. Fortunately for us his writings, tapes and videos live on. Many are questioned for their true authenticity but there is a hard core of work which no one disputes. Reading his works are very inspirational and I always go to them when I need security, reassurance and comfort. He talks directly to you. SOCIETY OF JESUS Father Anthony de Mello J.S is one of the great spiritual teachers of the second half of the last century. He was a member of the Company of Jesus as it was first known; better known now as the Society of Jesus and its members are called Jesuits. It is one of the great Roman Catholic Orders and was founded by Ignatius Loyola in 1540. The Jesuits emphasise spiritual purity and intellectual acumen with a stress on logic. Its educational system is exemplorary and it prides itself in having produced some the brightest and best leaders the world has known. The 20,000 Jesuits work in 112 nations and focus on parish and retreat ministry, in high schools and colleges. They may be found working as lawyers and doctors, psychologists and counselors, writers and journalists, theologians and philosophers, researchers and scientists. In short, Jesuits do all kinds of work. Their mission is everywhere and always the promotion of faith in Jesus Christ and the justice demanded by that faith. Jesuits seek to make Christ's Kingdom available to our times. They are men with a singular passion: to do the world a world of good. FATHER DE MELLO Jesuits have a long history of work in Indian. There are for example 25 Jesuit universities and some 200,000 students in all educational sectors at any given time. De Mello became the Director of the Sadhana Institute of Pastoral Counselling in Poona India. Many of his lectures were published in India initially and eventually they came to the attention of publishers in the West who recognized their uniqueness. During the 80s de Mello came to the U.S. and undertook a rigorous annual summer tour of U.S cities when thousands would flock to listen to him. In addition he held other workshops, prayer meetings conferences, often help at Fordham University. One participant said He was an entertainer, a storyteller and a challenger. He blows you mind. He is one of the most powerful speakers I have ever heard. He makes you see things in different ways. He was a genius of devising exercises for people to keep in touch with themselves and to pray out of that experience. De Mello recognized his ability as a teacher and counseling and presenting his faith in a unique way, through stories and poetry. He drew on an eclectic fund borrowed from Hasidic, Zen and the Sufi Masters as well as Jesus and the mystics of the west. He tried to awaken his listeners to the presence of God in their midst. Others said de Mellos greatest strength was his insistence that prayer is made with the heart not the head. Rather than more words about god, people want a taste of him. With this in mind he stressed the need for people to be aware, to wake up to the world around them. He challenged us thus: How can you hear the song and not hear the singer? How can you see the wave and not see the ocean? How can you see the dance and not the dancer? NOTIFICATION This great man who has done so much good to bring his church and his ideas to the ordinary person has nonetheless not gone unnoticed by the authorities. Indeed, he has been brought under suspicion by the Vatican . The warning underlies certain passages from his writings as not in conformity with the teaching of the Catholic Church. It appears that it has put dogma before the spiritual growth and faith of its flock. Eleven years after de Mellos death, a Notification was approved by Pope John II concerning the writings of Father Anthony de Mello. It was penned by none other than Cardinal Ratzinger, The Papal Policeman who has since become the new Pope! Basically, the Notification claims that de Mello challenges the nature of God and Jesus as espoused by the church. It concludes the above-mentioned positions are incompatible with the Catholic faith and can cause grave harm An official response to this accusation is being prepared by the Institute for Missiology and for the study of Religion (IMR). The purpose of the response is to point out the real significance of Father de Mellos writings and teachings, as well as the faulty quotations brought out in the Note. The IMR concludes Father de Mello is certainly a danger to a particular type of Catholicism but not to those who believe in Jesus Christ and live by his Gospel in the Unity of the faith . The Church has even tried to have his books banned. What publisher would give up so prized a possession. The History of Velveeta Cheese

By Mayoor Patel What is Velveeta Cheese? The United States Food and Drug Administration categorized it as pasteurized process cheese spread. A company in New York first made it in 1918. This company, the Monroe Cheese Company had employed a young cheese maker by the name of Emil Frey. He was trying to help the company he worked for find a way to dispose of the excess whey. Whey was a waste product that was made as a result of the cheese making process. Frey was working on another idea when he accidentally stumbled on a combination of the whey and another cheese that when mixed together created a smooth, almost velvety cheese material. That is of course why it was given the name Velveeta Cheese, because of the consistency. It could not be called cheese, but there was something about it that all the cheese companies wanted. Each one, using its own brand name, sued the others to be the only one permitted to make this popular new product. In the end Kraft Foods, which had their own brand, simply bought out the others. So in 1927 they became the owners of Velveeta Cheese. Since then they have taken the product and sold it throughout the United States and Canada. They have added different spicing to it to make more varieties of it. Over the years they have made changes to the consistency, changing it into more of a spread. In the 1950s they played with different sized packages trying to see what appealed to the consumer. In 1984 Kraft launched a Velveeta Cheese macaroni product. This was followed the next year by cheese slices. Keeping with the times in 1990 they introduced a microwavable version. As recently as 2003 they introduced a salsa dip. Even to this day the process cheese spread know by thousands as Velveeta Cheese is a controversial product and one that is kept a close eye on. Some say that it has less cheese than when it started out. Others feel that it does not matter as long as it tastes good. I wonder what Emil Frey would say. Secured Personal Loans - Employ the Right Kind of Finance

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Baker]Andrew Baker Secured personal loans have a history that dates back to centuries before the advent of modern banks and financial institutions. Even in the ancient times, borrowers were able to draw funds only when the lender was given rights to certain assets. Though a vast change is visible in the lending policy today, the popularity of secured personal loans sees no decline. Though homeowners do have the option to take unsecured personal loans, a majority of the group prefers to have loans the secured way. Mere apprehension of losing homes through repossession fails to motivate borrowers to change loyalties. At least borrowers who have been regular in credit transactions or had not more than one or two incidences of bad credit will not put their weight for loans without collateral. Loans without collateral or unsecured personal loans do not claim a direct charge on the borrowers home, but compensate the risk with a very high rate of interest and equally strict terms. Therefore, while the safety of home is ensured, the cost of loan rockets up. It is obvious that the cost of [http://www.loansfiesta.co.uk/secured_loans.html]Secured personal loans is lesser because of the lower interest rates and less strict terms. When the loan comes over for repayment, secured personal loans will be easier to repay because of lower cost involved. The intention of loan providers who try to influence the decision of borrowers to take secured personal loans is often viewed disapprovingly. Lenders prefer secured personal loans because of the lower degree of risk placed by them. People interpret this as the lenders eye on their home. Lenders are in no way interested in repossessing house or any other asset kept as collateral. Since, repossession, maintenance and liquidation put a huge cost on the lender, he would better allow the borrower to himself repay the loan provided. Only in the most extreme of cases when the loan appears to become a bad debt, lenders undertake to repossess collateral. Consequently, the fears regarding secured personal loans are misplaced. Advantages of secured personal loans are numerous. Principal among them is the treatment meted out to borrowers who opt for secured personal loans. The preference that the secured personal loan borrowers enjoy is well known. Since the fate of an asset of theirs is on stake through collateral, not many borrowers would take the step to be irregular in repayments. Consequently, the risk involved in secured personal loans is lower. Leniency in other terms is the result of the reduction in risk. Interest rate, for instance, is the lowest in secured personal loans. Typical APR ranges from 6% to 25%. The interest rate chargeable on any other loan will be much higher. The asset pledged towards collateral helps determine the APR that the borrower has to pay. Home and real estate property commands the lowest APR. Automobiles and title to motor vehicles too command a good interest rate, albeit higher than in homes. The collateral offered also determines the amount that can be had through secured personal loan. Home presents the safest bet for lenders. Thus, maximum amount will be lent against home. As a rule, the largest amount is offered through secured personal loans. When secured personal loan is offered against home, it is the equity that decides the amount of loan offered. Thus, borrowers planning to use the loan proceeds to huge expense heads like debt consolidation, home improvement and car purchase will be benefited more through a secured personal loan. Though the repayment options presented to the borrowers of secured personal loans are no different from that available to the unsecured loan borrowers, repayment is a relatively smoother journey for the former category of borrowers. Most lenders will make the terms of repayment flexible enough to suit borrowers. Some loan providers have deployed experts to educate borrowers about the various options that are available to them for loan repayment. The method used for disbursal of loan will be suggested after gaining a proper knowledge of the borrowers financial condition. A proper study indicates if the borrowers finances will be able to support the repayment method and the loan itself. Secured personal loans do have a few drawbacks. Proper decisions and accurate planning on secured personal loan however minimise the impact produced by these drawbacks. Road Traffic Accident Compensation

By Julian Hall Most road traffic accident compensation involves two drivers, with a driver or passenger from the one vehicle seeking compensation from the driver of the second vehicle. Based on evidence that the accident was caused through negligence. The road traffic accident compensation claim will lead to legal proceedings that will involve the driver and possibly, passengers of both vehicles claiming injury as a result of the negligent driving on one the parties behalf . Typically, legal proceedings due to poor road design, will be against a local council. This can be on the basis that they to have failed to install proper signs maintained proper design or maintain a A road, high street or motorway. A road traffic accident compensation claim may also include a product liability claim lodged toward the manufacturer of a car or car part, claiming design or manufacturing defect which lead to the accident. Also, if a car mechanic or garage left a car in an unsafe condition, liability may fall within their responsibility. Unique Situations
Unique situations can often arise in a road traffic accident compensation claim which make the legal proceedings more difficult. All parties involved may be liable for potential injuries and this will be considered during the course of any legal proceeding. Various issues that can arise from the accident itself include: Leaving the scene of an accident: Is not so uncommon in the UK where the driver who causes an accident fails to stop at the place of the accident. This will make it difficult for the injured party involved make a positive ID and therefore bring the driver to court. Pedestrians and Road Accidents: In such situations, a member of the public can suffer serious injuries as a result of a collision with a vehicle. Often time the conduct of the pedestrian is called into question making it difficult to make a claim against the driver. Motorbike & Car Accidents: Motorcyclists are very much at risk in regards to personal injury when involved in a road traffic accident, even in collisions which would be relatively minor had they occurred between cars. Due to the nature of some motorcyclists, it may be prove difficult to obtain a far hearing from a jury as they're commonly deemed 'wreckless' road users even if the other party is clearly at fault. Bicyclists & Car Accidents: Bicyclists are among the most vulnerable road users. They are more likely to sustain serious injury when hit by cars or other vehicles. Various hazards such as doors opening in front of them are obvious causes of collisions as well as many others. Cyclists are often caught in the drivers blind spot and they often report that they did not see the bicyclist until it was too late. Buses & Car Accidents: Bus accidents can also be quite serious. Due to the sheer size, passengers carried, a collision with a bus will not only see other road users worst off, but unmanaged passengers can also add to the already heated mix of a road accident. Any road traffic accident compensation claim will also be taken up with the operator of the bus not just the driver. Unsafe road conditions: Where things like road debris and poor, uneven road surfaces abound, accidents can be common place. Whether this is in the form of parts which have fallen off of vehicles, or debris that is kicked up from the roadway, it can all be used as evidence in a road traffic accident compensation claim if the driver believes this was the cause of the accident. **************************************************************** If you need advice or would just like to speak to someone, please dont hesitate to give Claims Master Group a call on 08000 71 22 71. Pluck Away - You'll Raise Some Brows

By Terry Price With a little care, you can have beautiful and elegant looking eyebrows with just a little weekly or biweekly maintenance to keep them looking their best! Here are a few tips to help you with eyebrow maintenance. If you have long hairs it is perfectly okay to trim them with manicure scissors, as this is preferable over plucking. The best time to pluck your eyebrows is after you get out of the shower as your pores are open and it doesn't sting quite as much. Remember not to pluck too many hairs as holes will appear in your brows. Remember to take a good look at the root area of the hair before you yank. One rule of thumb, especially if you have small delicate features, is to not over pluck your eyebrows as you want to remain as natural looking as possible. If you have an athletic build, delicate brows will just look plain silly. Keeping them thicker and well- manicured will go a long way, so use your best judgment. Well-shaped eyebrows are something you should strive for especially if you have small eyes. It is a great way to help you make a statement without the extra color around the eyes that will make them look even smaller. A lot of ladies enjoy having their eyebrows waxed. It is a good idea to find an expert in your local area and gain confidence in their abilities. Waxing can have some drawbacks, such as actually leading to in-grown hairs. A good way to get around the potential of ingrown hairs is to cleanse the brow area with a toner immediately after waxing, or when you arrive home, use cleansing grains to exfoliate the area so that hairs are not trapped beneath the surface of the skin. If you are blonde, tinting of brows is sometimes necessary. Remember that you should look for two shades darker than your actual hair color. As far as brunettes are concerned, never tint your brows black as it looks too severe. Choose a color in the brown tones. In closing, remember to not ignore your brows, because a little maintenance goes a long way to improving your looks!
