The One Word That Will Take You From Plain Jane to Turning Heads At A Rate That Is Insane!

By Dwayne Pressley Well actually three words, color, color, color!!! I remember the world renowned, salon owner and entrepreneur, John Amico, once told me he is HAPPILY married, Never cheats on his wife, yet he comes home with 5 different women a year! How does he do it? With color (he colors his wifes hair 4-5 times a year) and he says each time show looks like a
new woman!!! One of the keys to looking "stunning" with color is getting colors that blend well with your eyes and your skin tone. When this occurs your hair color(s) will not look so "man made-ish" and the hair color(s) you choose will not only compliment you, but also look very natural. When taking color into consideration keep in mind there are different "types" to choose from. You have temporary, semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent hair color. *Temporary Hair Color- is just that, temporary. It is good to use if your permanent color ever starts to fade, between your color appointments. *Semi-Permanent Hair Color- was created to last anywhere from 6 - 8 shampoos. I must admit that some product lines are stronger than this and I have witnessed a few semi-permanent colors almost as strong as some permanent hair color(s). *Demi-Permanent Hair Color- was designed to be gentle on the hair. This would be an excellent option for African American women wanting color (and currently relaxing their hair). Even though they do not lighten hair, they can become permanent, so keep in mind that shampooing your hair will not remove demi-permanent hair color. *Permanent Hair Color: will permanently change the natural color of your hair by either making it lighter or darker. There are also different factors to take into consideration as well, when choosing your hair color. Like: *The season. The colors that look best on you inlets saythe spring, will not look the best on you...during wintertime. *How "drastic" of a change you want to make. The farther you go from your natural color, the more the color will be noticed. *All over color, vs. highlights. Living in Florida, there is no question which one I love the best...(you guessed it) highlights!!! Want to Lose More Weight? Eat Breakfast!

By Kimberly Floyd The other day, I was talking with my sister about eating healthy and she said, "Breakfast is the hardest meal for me. After all, what can you eat besides bacon, sausage, or eggs?" Eating breakfast is essential to your weight loss efforts. A National Weight Control Registry survey has shown that people who eat breakfast tend to be slimmer than people who do not. Eating breakfast kick starts your metabolism in the morning. Because eating a healthy breakfast is a problem for many people, I would like to share with you some ideas for this meal to help you start your day right. Omelets - Okay I know these are made with eggs, but lets make them healthier. To start, mix three egg whites together, plus one yolk. Cook the mixture in a pan that has been coated with cooking spray. Fill the omelet with green onions, red peppers, mushrooms, and low fat mozzarella cheese. For an added kick, serve with 2 tablespoons of chunky salsa or low fat sour cream. Breakfast pizza - To create an Italian masterpiece, simply spray two whole wheat English muffin halves with olive oil spray. Toast lightly. Top the halves with two tablespoons of tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce on each. Then add some chopped vegetables, such as peppers, mushrooms, artichokes, or olives. Cover the vegetables with part-skim mozzarella cheese and bake for 10-15 minutes in a 425 degree oven. This pizza also makes a good lunch. Smoothies - Want something sweet and healthy? Try a Strawberry, Orange, and Banana Smoothie. To make one, pour one cup of orange juice in a blender. Add one cup of frozen strawberries, one whole banana, and a scoop of vanilla flavored protein powder. Blend until smooth. Enjoy! Nutty Yogurt - If you are in a hurry, nothing beats a small container of fruit flavored non-fat yogurt and mixed with 2 TBSP. of almonds, pecans, or walnuts. Alternatively, you can also stir in cup of quick cooking oats. If you want a more traditional breakfast, then there is always breakfast cereal. For maximum nutrients, you want to make sure that the cereal you choose has at least five grams of fiber per serving. Add banana or a cup of berries for an extra vitamin boost and top with either skim or 1% milk. With a little creativity, you can develop your own favorites. Use this meal to set the tone for good nutrition all day long. A Registered Nurse for many years, Kimberly Floyd battled obesity for much of her adult life. How to Get Started With Beading as a Hobby

By TereTan BK Beading is a great creative hobby that is suitable for people of all ages. You can also make beautiful and unique creations for yourself, family, friends and loved ones. Young children love to make beaded bracelets and necklaces. There are also beading kits that are catered for children to learn the craft of beading. Adults who love working with beads can also make a living selling their creative bead work at fairs, online, and opening their own trendy bead boutiques. Here is how you can get started with this wonderful craft. The first step would be to find a good local bead shop with good advice of experienced staff. There are also online catalogs and websites that provide great information and sell all sort of the supplies and tools required. Some stores would also offer beginners classes that would help you to learn basic techniques. Some even offer packaged starter kits that may include a beading board, tools, beads, wire, findings, books, etc. Start with a simple project such as a basic bracelet or necklace, without using too expensive beads and findings. You can use Swarovski crystal, sterling silver and semi-precious beads at a later stage. To sell more items, you can also consider expanding your bead work to more items than just jewelry. One area that is gaining popularity is bead work on household items. You can add beads to table cloths, lamp shades, or comforters. Beads can really liven up any household piece that you have. You can also work on seasonal projects, like Christmas bead work for jewelry or household items. Many people are interested in decorating their house during this and other holiday periods and will be more keen to purchase beaded craft. The only limitation with bead work is your own imagination. Ten Gift-Giving Tips While You Save

By Christiene Villanueva When thoughtfulness meets practical sense, you have a sure-fire formula for sound gift-giving. No matter how good it feels to make someone else happy, the value of gift-giving should not be measured based on the amount fetched for it, but on the intent for which the gift is given and the purpose it will serve the recipient. A gift worth a thousand dollars can spellbound for a while, but just like any spell, the magic will soon ebb away. In the final analysis, the gift that matters is one that touches a chord on someones heart, pastes a smile on the lips and lifts the spirit. You have the power to make a difference in your gift-giving, in fact, it does not take much to make an impression. Below are tips gathered from various experiences, those that have succeeded to please without putting so much dent on the wallet. For isnt it, that most of lifes pleasures come free, they only become difficult to achieve when we put a price tag to it? Save on time. Choosing a gift should not be done in haste. Haste makes waste is a popular adage, and it applies on gift-giving, too. Before you set foot outside of the house, you should have a mental image of the gift you want to get for a specific person, otherwise the running around will tire you needlessly, and will rob you of the fun and excitement that go with gift-giving. PLAN AHEAD OF TIME. This is perennial as the sun that rises in the east. Nothing saves more time, effort and resources than planning. The internet hosts a wide array of online stores that will serve as your best stop, without leaving home. Make use of technology to deliver to you the gift that best describes your emotion, in your utmost convenience, and at a price you can afford. Keep a list. Maintain and regularly update your list of people family, friends, relatives, close associates that you prefer to give gifts to. Keep a calendar of family events like birthdays and anniversaries, as well as milestones in other peoples lives, whose happiness you treasure. This will help you plan in advance the best gift for the occasion. Additional tips: Choose an item that comes in a variety of colors or styles and give this to several people; buying in bulk can save you dollars. For families, one item that they can collectively enjoy such as a board game, an appliance, or an exercise equipment will go a long way to making everyone happy. Find a substitute. When a particular gift you have in mind is not available or is costly, find a suitable but cheaper replacement or substitute. Exercise your imagination without loosening your grip on your purse strings. For a housewife, an occasional shopping spree, may sound just as costly as any kind of shopping. But a candlelit dinner for two may not only sound romantic, it can also put fun within the budget. Create a fit. The receiver and his gift. Gift-giving is all about the other fellow who receives the gift, what he likes. This is the charm of gift-giving: nobody is old enough to appreciate the gift, or young enough to take it for granted. Everyone just loves a gift! The trick is on how to make a fit. To effectively give a gift, be genuinely interested in the person for whom you wish to give a gift: what does he want, or need? Oftentimes, this information is communicated to us when we least expect to listen to it, or acknowledge it. Jot down any information or detail you can gather. This will serve its purpose later. Create a budget. Gift-giving need not be expensive if you know how to face up to the challenge of buying gift items, within your limits. To ease up the challenge, a list of gifts to buy can set up your focus, and an estimate of how far your budget can stretch. And stick to it! Shop regularly. Perennial gift-givers have a novel and practical approach to gift-giving. They refuse to be smitten by the spur-of-the-moment bug, instead they shop regularly, and in constant look-out for bargain items they can save up until the moment comes. This is the more subtle way of gathering up for bigger celebrations like Christmas and birthdays. Buying items this way does not impose a load on the budget, instead it sets up the discipline of saving for the long haul. 8. Set a gift-giving fund. A penny saved is a penny earned, that is one of the many credos we grew up with, and soon forgot. Setting aside an amount for gift- giving, on regular basis, will guarantee that when an occasion calls for it, we are ready. A small amount saved each month will add up overtime. With a budget to work with, gift-giving becomes a more pleasurable exercise. 9. The shortest way to anyones heart is still through the stomach. Food. There is something comforting in a good meal. No wonder, people from all walks of life appreciate a home-cooked or personally prepared menu. Discover your loved ones favorites and whip up a meal that suits his tastes. Few men can resist the temptation of good food served in a platter of feminine charm, laced with intelligently carried-out conversations. 10. Its the thought that counts. When you are given a gift, show courtesy by sending back a thank you card. Oftentimes, the thought counts just as important as the gift itself. Dont be fooled by the notion that the gift encompasses everything there is in gift-giving. The gift is only the physical manifestation; what is more valuable is that which is unseen.
